BMX Day 2011 video

I've spent the last Saturday of winter (calendar winter at least) at Jutrzenka skatepark in Warsaw, at the second edition of BMX Day contest. The first things that made ​​an impression after entering were the grandstands. Great idea of the organizers to offload the skatepark especially because of the high amount of the riders and spectators. Regarding the Dartmoor team (which I paid the most attention to), a lot of people showed up - Lesiak Skejcik, Szaman and Szamanek. Was only a momentary escape from the regular ride on MTB for Simon, but David is probably changing wheels permanently. Fortunately, the whole team managed to made it to the final 10.

I won't be writing much about the Dartmoor riders as you can see them in the movie. Among all the other riders, the most impressive was of course Zient. Speed and style are two words which best reflect his rides. Not a lot of tricks, but everything done with a great dose of perfection and originality. Jerzyk similarly - fast, high and a lot of tricks, too bad that at the end he broke his ankle again.

After the standard competitions, the high air contest was held; over the bar set on funbox. Here started - among others - Szamanek and Skejcik. The first one who was busted was Rafał. Szamanek stayed until the end, competing with Zient for the first place. Last height was 2.80m above the shelf box, which exceeded all expectations. Ultimately, however, Zient won.

At the very end the best trick combo competition took place, set specifically for this section of the street but unfortunately I have not had occasion to watch. And given the best trick (which was 360barspin to smith) I definitely regret not being able to see it.



Ostatnią zimową sobotę (przynajmniej kalendarzowo) spędziłem na warszawskiej Jutrzence, na drugiej już edycji zawodów BMX Day. Pierwsze co robiło wrażenie po wejściu na jakże opatrzonym wszystkim skateparku, były trybuny. Świetny pomysł organizatorów aby odciążyć w znacznym stopniu samą płytę. A było z czego bo frekwencja, zarówno riderów jak i publiczności, była bardzo dobra. Jeśli chodzi o team Dartmoora (a to jemu właśnie głównie się przyglądałem) to również zjawiło się sporo osób - Lesiak, Skejcik, Szaman i Szamanek. Dla Szymona była to tylko chwilowa odskocznia od regularnej jazdy na MTB ale Dawid ponoć przesiada się już na stałe. Zabrakło Kiwaka ale cóż, wesele siostry to nie w kij dmuchał. Na szczęście wszystkim z teamu udało się przejść do finałowej 10 a tam to się działo.

O jeździe chłopaków z Dartmoora nie będę pisał bo to możecie zobaczyć na filmie. Największe wrażenie z pozostałych riderów robił oczywiście Zient. Prędkość i styl, to dwa słowa, które najlepiej oddają jego przejazdy. Nie za dużo sztuczek ale wszystko do perfekcji i oryginalnie. Jerzyk podobnie - szybko, wysoko i dużo trików, szkoda, że na koniec znów rozwalił sobie kostkę.

Po standardowych zawodach odbył się high air contest nad poprzeczką ustawioną na funboxie. Tutaj wystartowali między innimi Szamanek i Skejcik. Pierwszy z nich odpadł Rafał, zaliczając nieprzyjemną glebę na żebra. Szamanek został aż do końca, rywalizując z Zientem o pierwsze miejsce. Ostatnia wysokość to 2,80m od poziomu półki boxa, co przebiło oczekiwania wszystkich. Finalnie wygrał jednak Zient.

Na koniec miał miejsce jeszcze best trick combo na ustawionej specjalnie pod to sekcji street ale tego już niestety nie miałem okazji obejrzeć. A biorąc pod uwagę najlepszy trik (360barspin to smith) mam czego żałować.
